Off to See the Animals!

Next we head to Yankari where we hope to see lots of elephants and lions and not so many mango-stealing baboons. We'll have a few relaxing days doing day trip safaris out into the jungle. Then relax in the afternoon or evening at the warm springs.

So far time has flown by. At the hospital we've had some amazing stories of patients and weird spells and voodoo causing unconsciousness and illness. Yesterday one of the residents pulled a stone on a string out of one patient's mouth and he instantly regained consciousness. Strange stuff!

We've been eating our fill of mangos, pineapples and bananas. Lots of fun animals to play with.

We'll be in London next and then back to SoCal.

Nigerian Happenings

"Baba" waiting for us to pick him up for church on Sabbath.

Village lady with food on her head, baby on back, picking up machete to hop in our pickup for a ride.

Here's some pictures of the proposal site if you haven't seen them yet. Yes, it's true, i'm engaged! Kimball suprised me in front of the most beautiful waterfall we had ever seen. OK, maybe we were just really hot from the jungle trek to get there.

Hope all is well where ever you are. I will be back in the States June 6. The wedding will be July 30 if possible. (I know, we're crazy...but who can make it to a New Zealand wedding?)

Ekaro! Welcome to Nigeria!

We just rolled in as the tail end of the storm headed out...lots of downed mango and banana and pineapple trees, but still plenty to go around! People here are great!...they say we're living in the original spot where Adam and Eve originated...Ile Ife, Nigeria! No pics yet, but will have plenty to share soon, of fruit bats, the jungle, and locals. Pray for electricity and a steady water supply...

Next off to Black Rock Canyon!

we're off to black rock canyon canoe camping with stops along the way for natural hot springs and waterfalls. we're going with the wilderness med group and teaching them whitewater rescue. come along if you want...it's supposed to be pretty easy paddling and no whitewater to speak of (sadly for me).

just to remind all you poor people left behind when we move to new zealand for a year, now's the time to start your travel funds so you can come visit. i've been told february is the month to visit...good weather and not too many people. anyway, come when you can, we'll be there, ready for more adventures.

Help, I can't keep up with the posting!

Hello fellow adventurers. Recent travels have kept this blogger away from the computer and therefore I have failed to keep the pictures coming. More later, i promise. Last weekend was the fantastic stuck in the snow being towed out backwards at speeds up to 30 mph by a wild AAA tow truck driver bent on our death (kimball and i decided). Nonetheless, the moonlight snowshoe out to the bishop hot springs was worth it all.

Next is dodgeball season! Well, don't all hooray at once but run over and join us for some good old fashioned fun.

Up-coming fun will be posted soon...i will try not to be so delinquent in the future.

Jasper, Canada

Sorry, I would've invited ya'll but this last trip was a surprise even to me. Kimball and Ryan concocted the best ever fly fishing/mtn biking/wildlife/hotsprings/waterfall tour of canada.

Four glorious days...check out the pics and plan a trip yourself.

The drive from Calgary through Banff, Lake Louise, and on to Jasper was full of awesome views and wildlife galore.
